Hey there!

I tipped the scales at a cosmic 4.20kg at birth. Despite the "weighty" hint at a reggae career, I swerved to vibe with indie and electronic pop instead—though I've got nothing but love for reggae.

Born and raised in a quaint town just a skip away from Vilnius, Lithuania, where the population barely hits 6000, I found my musical calling early. By the time I was in the second grade, I was already jamming on the piano and guitar, setting the stage for a life filled with music. Despite growing older, I've clung to a playful, almost childish spirit that infuses my music.

So, why the name Mars on Mars? Well, it's all about my dog, Mars—my deaf companion who might as well be on the Mars for all he hears. The paradox behind this is that SADLY he’s shaping tunes he’ll never experience.

what my music is

Melodies!!! I LOVE melodies. I also throw reverbed rim shots here and there - it adds some texture and depth, while triples keep things interesting. Dreamy guitar tones contribute to a surreal and atmospheric sound. Dynamic hi-hats provide an energetic and lively rhythm that drives the music forward.

Also, I LOVE rhythmic synths on 1/16 notes that add a precise, driving force that propels the tracks. I sometimes include a touch of old-school vibe, subtly blending classic influences with modern sounds. I create a sense of anticipation and build-up by leaving half of a bar for pre-things. Rhythmic pauses on some instruments offer a momentary break, making the return of the beat more impactful.

• My dog Mars and I share the same birthday—it's a double celebration every year!

• My official signature is "I don't agree," which makes signing documents a little more interesting.

• I didn't start speaking until I was 3, but I've been making up for lost time ever since.

• I used to sneakily collect bottle protectors from stores just to make all sorts of sounds with them.
